The Writing on the Wall
The mantle in my lobby is often topped with small objects generously donated by my neighbors. Among the gadgets and gizmos are books. As I was perusing some titles while waiting for the elevator one day, it dawned on me that the covers were really cute and should be used in some way. I also found a book whose subject matter was painfully boring, but the illustrations were adorable so I felt less guilty about ripping out the pages and converting them into wall decor. This is a fun way to recycle and decorate at the same time. Tip: try keeping book covers consistent in color scheme and opt for a simple frame. Choose a shade that will pick up a subtle color found in a throw pillow or rug. Happy hanging!
